WOMEN’S COMMUNITY COASTER DESIGN COMPETITION

OVERVIEW & DESIGN BRIEF

Background

We are opening a new women’s community in Gloucester, creating a welcoming, safe, and nurturing environment for women to recover, connect and build community.

As we prepare to open, we want you to get involved!


We are designing some coasters to go in the first home, and we would love your help!

We are asking people to send us designs for a coaster.

Objective

Design a coaster that represents one or all of the following:

· Strength

· Recovery

· Community

The design should feel welcoming, uplifting, and suitable for everyday use within the house.

Design Requirements

· Format: Round or square coaster

· Size: Standard coaster size (approx. 90–100 mm diameter)

· Style: Open to interpretation (illustration, typography, pattern, or symbolic)

· Colours: Should work well with a warm, calm, and inclusive interior environment

Evaluation Criteria

Entries will be judged based on:

· Creativity and originality

· Relevance to the theme

· Visual impact

· Practicality for production

 

Terms and Conditions

Promoter: The Design a Coaster Challenge is organised by Hope & Vision Communities

Eligibility: Employees or immediate family members of Hope & Vision may not enter.

The competition is open to all ages, but anyone under 16 years of age requires parental consent.

How to Enter: Entries must be submitted by midday on Friday 17th July via email. Only one entry per person unless otherwise stated.

Design Requirements: Designs must be original work created by the entrant and must not contain offensive, discriminatory, or copyrighted material belonging to others.

Winner Selection: Winners will be selected by a judging panel based on creativity, originality, and suitability for printing.

Prize: The winning design will be printed on promotional coasters for display within our Women’s House. No cash alternative will be offered.

Use of Designs: By entering, participants grant Hope & Vision Communities permission to use, reproduce, and display submitted designs for promotional and charitable purposes.

Notification: Winners will be contacted via the details provided within two weeks. If a winner cannot be contacted, another winner may be selected. Unsuccessful entrants will not be informed.

Data Protection: Personal information will only be used for administering the competition and handled in accordance with UK data protection legislation.

General: Hope & Vision Communities reserves the right to amend or cancel the competition where necessary.
