We are an independent registered charity run by a small but mighty staff team and managed by a highly regarded board of trustees experienced in the charitable sector, law, rehabilitation, finance, recovery, counselling, business growth and project management.
Tracey joined Hope and Vision Communities as a trustee to offer her fundraising skills in the summer of 2023 stepping into the Chair role from September 2024. She was attracted to the powerful story and a smaller charity with strong ambition where she feels she can make a real difference. Tracey has worked in fundraising in the charitable sector for over 20 years, mainly within the healthcare arena including at Thames Hospice, National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society, Sue Ryder (Berkshire & Oxfordshire) and Roald Dahl's Children's Charity in senior and board roles. She is currently Director of Fundraising at Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care where she restructured the team and developed a the fundraising strategy. She was part of the Executive Team which completed a merger with Peace Hospice in 2023. Tracey manages a team of 24 people and works closely with the trustee board.
James has 17 years' experience in the software and IT services recruitment market both consultancy and client side working across the globe. He is experienced in driving global recruitment initiatives in the software space as well as managing end to end recruitment cycles for a range of Enterprise software organisations. He has been responsible for all aspects of running his own business with his business partner, which has grown since 2013 achieving seven figure revenues with 80% profit margins in the last year. He joins Hope and Vision Communities because of his own lived experience with addiction, and his existing relationship with Tony. He is passionate about making a difference, giving back and building on the success of what the charity has already achieved.
James is a qualified Chartered Accountant with over 20 year experience. After initially qualifying with PwC he spent some time working for an overseas development focused charity which took him to Afganistan, Sierra Leone and the DC. He is currently a Director in Strategy and Transactions at EY, specialisting in financial due dilligence having advised clients on transactions in over 20 countries.
In his spare time James enjoys running, cycling, paddleboarding and joining his two teenage sons playing for the local village cricket team.
HHJ Peter Ross worked in the criminal justice system from 1976 to 2020, as a defence solicitor, prosecutor, head of Central London CPS, three years as the solicitors’ profession’s regulator, called to the Bar (Inner Temple) July 2000, Recorder since 1999, and Circuit Judge (Crown Court) since 2004. He continues to contribute to the national debate on how to deal with offenders whose criminal conduct is underpinned by addiction. Peter was a founding trustee, initially in the Chair role from 2019. He is married with three adult children, and in his spare time Peter is a vegetable grower, beekeeper, orchardist and Grandpa.
Jenny has been our trustee since 2020. She takes a lead on all property/rental aspects of our work. She has worked in the property industry for 20 years, including 10 years of experience as the owner of a specialist HMO letting & management agency in Oxfordshire. In her current role, she manages a construction firm specialising in value creation for investors. In her free time, Jenny enjoys the Great Outdoors, rehabilitating ex-racehorses & training her Labradors.
Treflyn has 30 years’ experience of working in the addiction recovery field in the UK and other countries. He has known Tony through the past six years of his recovery journey and was one of the initial trustees of Hope & Vision. Alongside his role with Hope & Vision he is also involved with the International Substance Abuse and Addiction Coalition as their International General Secretary.
Founder of Hope and Vision Communities and the inspiration for the prison rehabilitation project in Bullingdon prison. Tony has 25 years of lived experience with addiction and crime, with 15 years experience of community, prison and residential treatment. He is an active Christian and 12-step fellowship member with a heart and passion to make a difference and give back to society.
Kevin is a 'bitsa' which means he's lived bits of his life in different countries including New Zealand, Australia and the USA. He grew up experiencing the same kind of trauma that many of our residents have faced and has been in recovery from substances for over 20 years.
He has a degree in chemical dependency and 30 years working in the addictions field. His job is more than a profession - it is a vocation, a calling. The opportunity to help those who suffer by using an addiction to escape has always been a goal of his, and he is a very valued member of the Hope and Vision community.
Leo has several years’ experience working in a treatment centre and is a former resident of Hope and Vision Communities. He also has experience as a group facilitator and volunteer with a charity supporting the significant others of people in active addiction. Leo has supported many men in their journey through residential rehab and is looking forward to continuing this journey with the residents.
Donna has over 20 years experience of working for charities looking after Trusts and Foundations for them. Her knowledge of this landscape is vast and she brings a wealth of experience. Her experience also includes working for some of the Trusts. Regularly called upon to speak publicly about the fundraising challenges faced by charities Donna is able to steward relationships and has a large network. In her spare time Donna enjoys spending time by the sea and watching Luton Town FC.
Will has 12 years' professional experience working in treatment centres, community support projects and housing pathways across the Thames Valley region. He has helped medical professionals with addiction issues through to street homelessness. He has a deep understanding of the effects of trauma both personally and professionally and understands what drives active addiction. He enjoys working with people, motivating others and being part of the process to enable people change their lives. Will has been practicing mindfulness for over 20 years through different variations of meditation. He regularly runs retreats for men to be able to open up about hidden emotional issues.
